Who Are We?
SEPDER's member and volunteer portfolio consists of academics, public and private sector representatives who play an active role in the formulation and implementation of social and economic policies, as well as experts in this field. With this diverse team of professionals from various institutions and organizations, the association aims to develop a scientific and practical framework to produce social and economic policies.
Our Perspective
The Social and Economic Perspective Association (SEPDER) aims to develop national and globally impactful social policies that strengthen Turkey's social and economic structure, enhance societal welfare, and support disadvantaged groups. Inspired by Turkey's historical, cultural, and socio-economic dynamics, our association operates under the motto “Strong Social Policies for Turkey, Effective Solutions Worldwide" and strives to work in line with sustainable development and social justice principles. Our primary goal is to develop social policies centered on human dignity and honor, increase Turkey's influence in regional and global social policy arenas, and establish a robust model of social solidarity.
Our Goals
SEPDER aims to become a hub that addresses Turkey's social and economic challenges, supports disadvantaged groups, and approaches societal transformation processes through scientific foundations. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen Turkey's leadership in international social policy, collaborate with global organizations to develop impactful regional and global social policies, and produce projects with worldwide reach. Our objectives in this direction are as follows:
- Analyze and improve Turkey's social policies,
- Develop inclusive policies for groups marginalized due to economic or social reasons,
- Conduct academic and field studies to elevate our nation's social welfare standards,
- Enhance the effectiveness of social services and aid by fostering collaborations with government institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations,
- Conduct scientific research and develop projects to position Turkey as a leading actor in international social policy,
- Establish collaborations in social policy across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East to contribute to global sustainable development goals,
- Disseminate Turkey's social policy expertise globally by partnering with international organizations, academic centers, and policymakers, thereby amplifying Turkey's influence on global social policies,
- Strengthen Turkey’s role in social policy production by developing joint projects with international organizations, introducing global best practices to our country, and enhancing Turkey’s impact on shaping worldwide social policies.
What Will We Do
As a newly established organization, SEPDER is preparing to implement its plans to conduct research in social and economic policy fields, develop applied projects, and lay the groundwork for various academic studies. Within this scope, activities will be carried out to address Turkey’s socio-economic challenges, leverage international experiences to generate solutions, and tackle global socio-economic problems. These initiatives will be phased in and implemented gradually.
